Ears and Whiskers both frowned as Bae-Syl said that he would tell them the truth. It would upset Lucy, more out of worry for both her mate and mother. The idea of losing either of them would be unthinkable. Ears shook his head. “Bellamy and Lucy won’t allow you to be kicked out for that. If there is one thing I know about Bells, if she feels a decision is made for the better, she’ll defend it.” He sighed heavily. “...and we understand her worry… and why she’d make that promise. Bellamy… has had periods of instability for some time. If she made that promise with you, it is because she trusts you.” The devil felt his shoulders fall.

“We… I don’t think either of us could do that.” Whiskers confessed. “For all her faults… We have been with Bellamy the majority of our lives. We can’t do anything that might hurt her…” Whiskers hesitated for a long moment. “I… If you feel you can’t best her… there is one who would attempt her life… one she has lost to prior…” It was clear the idea made the badger uncomfortable. She looked at Ears and the devil bared his fangs in response. “No!” His voice was firm. “I’d sooner die than place her against that asshole.” Whiskers shook her head, gaze returning to Bae-Syl. She didn’t like it either… and she was sure Ears was not going to be happy with her sharing this information.

“Ignis Praetor, a dire red furred pirate covered in scars… Bellamy’s sworn enemy. They have both maimed each other already. If anyone would fight her to the death… it is that man.” Ears bristled and spat. “She doesn’t deserve that!” He snapped. “Bellamy would give her life for her family, and you’d let that sick fuck who turned on his own family take her out!?” Whisker flinched at his anger. “Ears…” The devil glared in Bae-Syl’s direction. “If you dare put her in his path I will tear your balls off, are we clear!?” Oh boy… this had gone from understanding to both companions being divided on what needed to be done if the worst happened.

Whiskers cast one last look at Bae, giving a nod. “Get her to Lucy… I… I’ll handle Ears.” With the last word said, the old badger turned to chase off the other companion. Bae-Syl had enough to deal with without Ears threatening to tear off his family jewels.
