The boy couldn't be contained. When he heard his dad was going down to the crypt he'd immediately scurried off to get out of his Aunt's line of sight. She wouldn't be ok with this but c'mon, they had fought a lion together when it tried to eat the spotty guy, how dangerous could it be? It wasn't like it was their first time going down there either.

The sound of battle echoed ahead, bouncing off the narrow passageways. A canine scent, foreign and strange from those he knew filled his senses, tinted with iron, stained with blood. It made his heart race with excitement. Now this was what he was talking about! Teeth aimed to clamp down on a pale limb to immobilise, maybe someone else would jump in and give him a hand, it wasn't like there was a lot to him yet, other than dead weight and needle teeth.
