Beat down the doors

they’d been excited - and nervous - about this raid, but now that it’s actually here, a curious detachment has overcome them, a distance that distorts their surroundings through a tunnelled lens. there’s a hollow ringing in their ears as they drift, dream-like, into Valta territory. around them the fighting commences, and though they know this raid to be the kind born of friendly competition, it’s not enough to clear the cotton from their head. it’s not fear, not exactly…but more an eerie serenity, the calm before the storm. their eyes cut through the gathering masses in an almost stoic manner, seeking an opponent. an opportunity.
