I'm On Top of the World

Little gray, black, and white paws padded along several feet behind her brother, sneaking after him and stalking him the way her mother used to stalk other wolves. Jian had snuck away from the den many times to watch her mom when the Madame went to patrol the borders, watching how the ivory fea moved along sooo quietly that the pup couldn't hear her at all sometimes! It amazed the monochromatic pup and Jian had been trying to do it ever since. Like momma like daughter.

But Her mom's howl suddenly broke her attention and she saw Calix run off in the direction of it. Jian wondered if they would get in trouble for being away from the den and hesitated before taking off after him. She wanted to see mom too!

She ran into the clearing, skidding to a stop next to Alena. She looked up at her mother with wide, ice-blue eyes, her little tail wagging excitedly. "Hey, momma! What's going on?" She noticed the new fea then, all black and white and light gold, almost the same colors as her and she wondered what she was doing here. Was she in their pack too?
