Anxiety and apprehension at how the other might take him gnaw at the corgi for only mere moments before the other is speaking. He shifts to find a more comfortable way to stand on his foot, lifting his eyes back up to the other. The other seemed kind of unfriendly with his vocals, but maybe he was just gruff? One could hope.
He opens his mouth finally to answer and his own tones, while deep and accented are quieter. "Sorry... Was hoping to just see some friendly faces 'round these parts. Kind of found myself really far from home...." His eyes hold hope but doubt gnaws at his gut. This wolf while definitely different looking from what he's used to, could easily turn on him. He also didn't seem like he was looking for friends, if his voice was anything to go on. Maybe these lands did have a prejudice against dogs too. "Sorry was prolly a stupid notion..."
