The woman's response nearly deflates her eagerness to draw blood. She really wasn't going to stand up for herself? Calliope can't help but laugh. A hearty chuckle that echoes over the deserted plateau. "Mean? Oh, girly, you haven't seen mean yet," her words are sharp, angular almost as she lowers her head to shoulder height, tail lowering to do the same. She shoots forward at the scared little baby as her ears fall backward and the fur along her ruff bristles. Except, she's the baby in this scenario, but still, we get the point.

Once Calliope is within range, she lunges. Quick, striking out with a ferocity that a nearly one-year-old shouldn't have. Reaching for Ophie's smaller form, Calliope attempts to grab around her thick neck. Head tilting back, jaws opening wide, she dives back in, using the momentum to try and aim for a bite to Ophie's cheek or neck.
