Marrow

Marrow had gotten herself turned around. The forest was thick and dense and the sudden fog wasn't helping matters. At least she'd found a body of water. A large lake that promised some relief from her thirst. She pushed through the strands of low hanging moss and was about to bend her head to drink when movement made her second guess herself. Was there something in the water? Her ears flicked forward, peering through the murky water when a massive crocodile sprang out.

Marrow shrieked and leapt back, just getting herself out of the way of the jaws. She shuffled back further, hackles and fur standing on end. "The fuck…" She stared at the large reptile as it walked out of the water, turned, then dove after her. Marrow leapt up the nearest tree trunk, scrambling up out of the way of the creature's teeth. "Oh, fuck off!" She yelled at it. Nasty thing!
