It writhed beneath him, and he didn’t realize the way its body was moving until the tail was sliding past his face… Jolting up, Gavroche yelped in surprise as coils began to wrap around his smaller body. The snake wasn’t stopping there though, trying to get the girl he was helping as well, though she was in a far better position than the winged wolf was. His dexterous digits splayed against the scales of the creature as he sank in his teeth once more, clamping his jaws down as tight as he could in hopes the snake would let go. He could still feel it shifting, its body trying to tighten around his smaller form. His heart was pounding in his chest… would something of this size crush him in the same way he stepped on an insect killed it? He squeezed his eyes closed, trying to dig in with his claws and prayed to the Divinites above he wasn’t about to meet his end.
