Marrow

Marrow rolled out of the way of the massive paw that sailed over her head far too close for comfort. Suddenly the bear roared and twisted around. At that moment she spied a brightly marked male behind the bear. Whoo! She was always up for an ally when it came to harassing bears. With the bears head turned away from her Marrow bounded back into the fray. Jaws open she slammed into the bear's side, just behind it's right front leg, her jaws digging into the back of the shoulder where it connected to the side. She sought to rip tendons there. At the same time her claws dug into its side and she held on as it roared and thrashed. She could feel it twist around for her but Marrow clung on, trying to stay out of reach of its jaws.
