Poison or remedy?

Something about this place was off. Unsettling. The sickly greenish tinge that seemed to color everything it touched was more than enough to put Dread off. Fuck, he missed the Cathedral. Scald had dragged them away from their personal Eden, but it made sense. Dread couldn't hold it against him. Family defined them, even if they demanded sacrifice. Family. Thoughts of his eldest brother still echoed around between Dread's ears, the last sighting still burned into his mind. Right. Plenty of things that keep his head loud as they take in the Emerald Island in all its alleged glory.

Dread recognizes the copper by scent, though. Running his paw through a particularly green patch of sand with a light hum, brow lifting. Things Halo had to say about copper and copper sulfate both echoed around in his head. Still carrying bits of everyone he's ever loved around, right? Well, maybe Sakana or Jael would appreciate some, at least. The rest? Trade goods were trade goods. Not eager to let Deluge out of his sight for long, Dread is quick to fold some of the bright green sand away and tuck it within the borrowed bag for later.

Coming around the blind corner just in time to see the pale and golden creature bouncing towards Deluge, he closes the gap with a purpose. Keen sapphire gaze falling on the girl, allowing himself to rise to his full height. Though Dread isn't aggressive, he's assessing whether he needs to be. If she has questions, she can ask of both of them. Hovering at Deluge's shoulder, a half step behind her, openly eyeing the oddly shaped, sort-of wolf before them.
