Jael's brow comes together, grumbling for a moment. She can't explain what kind of dog she is, only that she's more like them than like... not-them. But is she so different than the cattle dogs they'd met at the markets? Jael is an awful lot like them. It's hard to explain, and she's glad the child has reverted to sarcasm instead. It means Jael can focus on trying not to grimace and grumble as they inspect her wound. "How else would you get to practice, then?" She gave a soft smile, unable to help herself. Teasing the child gently, gritting her teeth through the pain. Sid was clearly excited about something, and Jael would let that be her distraction. Couldn't dwell on the dog question for too long, otherwise she'd get existential about it. "Tell me about it," inviting Sid to fill the space. It would be easier if she didn't have to focus on the throbbing pain that radiated all the way through her system. The glue surprised her. It actually did look less uncomfortable. "Glue me back together, doc." Jael tried to put on a brave smile, but damn it hurt. Tail twitching, if nervously. She would be more careful next time. |
As her keepers, Gilgamesh and Modesty may join any of Jael’s threads if they deem necessary.
