Moving away from the railing, he noticed thick lengths of rope snaking their way across the deck, rotten and fraying in places. He doubted they'd be able to bear any tension at all, even as he kicked passed them as he stepped over, the threads ripped. All soggy and wet, creating a rather unpleasant smell. And speak of bad things, his nose wrinkled in disgust when he came across what appeared to be the torn up remains of a leash and collar. Gross.
