It was a good thing the girl listened well. Maybe it was their kindness that kept her moving along. Ha! Kindness wasn't truthfully in their vocabulary, but Idris did like to humor himself privately from time to time. After retrieving her from the brush out in the delta, he makes sure to keep her in front of him and Matija as they move toward the mangrove forest. Occasionally, his nose juts out to jab at her buttocks or thigh and maybe even his teeth grasp at her tail. Though he's exhausted, he's not exhausted enough to not mess with her. With the past hopefully behind them, up in flame and smoke, Idris feels as if he can begin to relax. Once they're in the confines of shade and cool, clean water, he moves past Matija and Cambria to plop himself down in the shallows. Oh how it felt lovely to rid himself of the effects of the ocean. Keeping his cheek on the dry land, his eyes half-closed, he watches Cambria and where she goes. If she felt like joining him or simply getting a drink, that was fine. If she wanted to find a corner to hide in, he wouldn't stop her, for now. Taking a few laps of water in the meantime, he rolls over onto his back and lets out a sigh. "Lovely vacation we're having, aren't we?" Idris jokes, more to Matija than he is to Cambria. |
