Do hyenas really laugh?

The pulsation of vessels teased his lips, his jaws tightening, the pressure increasing, until pop! he penetrated the cartilaginous trachea of his victim. A whoosh of air followed, which morphed into husky pants for air- the hyena suffocating within his jaws, kicking and scratching at him but he was relentless and unyielding. He’d finally let go once it became still. His head raised to look at the boy, just as the third hyena barreled into his side.

It bit down on his shoulder, trying to knock him over but Rhazien was far larger and bulkier than the creature. Still, he stumbled back several feet, regaining his footing in a sloppy battle for power as he started grappling with his new opponent.
