And then he was there, his arms around her. He had to scoot close to the ground to do so, but she didn’t mind. She wrapped her tiny paws about his neck, and held on tightly. Almost surprised by how delighted she was to see him again. Every time they met, things changed between them a little more. He meant more to her, every time. When a season had passed, she had started to worry. Started to think that perhaps she didn’t mean the same to him… but his paws told her otherwise.

When he pulled his ears back, and struck a very sorrowful pose in front of her, she unwound a paw so she could bop him gently on the nose. “You should be. A season! I was starting to worry. Between the flooding, and the fire worm… you seem to find trouble very easy, Crux” She told him. “You need me there to keep an eye on you.”
