King of the hill

Unbeknownst to Alastor, Saracyn was also on the hunt of the grizzly bear in question. He had gotten reports from his raptors of the massive ursine making its way onto the island sometime in the night and killing some of their mountain goats. Well, that wouldn't do to have a mangy stray stealing their supplies and threatening their home. So off Saracyn stalked through the mountains, hunting about for any sign of the bear. He found some tracks along a muddy outcropping, then picked up the scent trail not a few minutes later. Round and round the winding paths he went, until he eventually came upon its lair—and was surprised to find the scent of his father in the area as well.

A bellow from inside the cave followed by feral snarls alerted the Commander as to what was going on inside. Saracyn's focus sharpened and he ran inside to join the fray. Alastor was a formidable fighter and hunter—in fact, he'd taught Sara everything he knew—but his sire was getting up there in age. Fighting bears alone should not have been his go to for a fun morning activity. Sara found his father atop the angry bear like a cowboy riding a bucking bull, tearing into its hide with reckless abandon. The sight brought a delighted grin to his face, and with sharp serrated teeth bared, Saracyn ran in to help his father. While Alastor tore into the beast's back, Saracyn went for its exposed sides, taking bites into the bear's ribs and as much of the underbelly as he could reach. The flesh was less fatty here, and his sharklike teeth were rewarded with a rich gush of hot blood into his mouth.
