But Cadaver was ready - he met the creature's reckless attack with a snarl, sinking his teeth into its throat once more. The hyena's feeble resistance quickly waned as it gasped for air, flailing haphazardly with splayed jaws until it was finally able to rip itself away from the young wolf, tucking tail as it fled from the encounter.
