All this land, and the river runs through it. Ivy knows this river, and as he studies the banks, there's something cathartic. Something strange, something... far away. Walking the banks, feeling the way his paws shift in the sand now that he's fully grown. The voices of his caretakers, of his siblings, play like a staticky radio from another room, printed on his memory.

Ivy's gaze turned from the water to the beach, curious as it dances upon the opposite edge. A girl, blue, taller than him... but the way she carries herself. There's something familiar about it. It's as Ivy squints, as he stares, that she finally speaks. Though the words aren't any he recognizes, he knows that voice.

"Fuck... Brida?" Disbelief coloring his expression, the boy is quick to jump to the water, and begin paddling to the opposite edge. "It's really you." Coming up on the correct edge, coming closer. Overwhelmed for a moment as he comes closer, his pace slows. Almost worried she'd turn to smoke before his eyes.
