Another One Bites The Dust

A dog slips by the huge polar and delivers a painful bite to her hind leg, eliciting a pain-filled roar that has Enki winching in sympathy. He moves forward, taking on another of the canines, a tall mutt with a blunt nose, and immediately puts it on the defensive. They snarl and snap, spittle flying through the air as he pushes toward the smaller creature, forcing it to back away. Another tries to rally and help his comrade but, as he charges the taller wolf, Enki snaps around and grabs ahold of its throat.

It whines and whimpers as he turns back toward the taller mutt, oozing malice as he works his jaws and crushes the writhing beast’s windpipe. Tossing the dead creature at the feet of the other dog, he sees the horror that his action has caused and the remaining canines share an uncertain glance, considering if they should stay and fight until the last one or retreat while they can.

A toothy grin splits Enki’s blood covered maw.
