Gavroche’s teeth met their target and Gavroche held onto the pinched flesh, keeping it to the best of his ability as he used her leg to steady himself. He could feel her body shift and jolt as she stomped and whirled, and he gave a soft yelp as he was forced to release his hold and hit the ground. It didn’t really hurt, but it surprised him! In the next moment he was scrambling to his paws as his opponent and her companion crashed above him. Before he realized what was going on Gavroche had dove for her ankle… and then down she was coming. Before his teeth were able to connect he ended up half under his opponent, squished beneath her larger frame.

Gavroche began to squirm and try to flail immediately. Claws dug into the dirt as the yearling attempted to pull himself out from under her. Thankfully she wasn’t hurting him, but he had been startled further by the woman just collapsing on top of him. Finding no luck with the dirt, Gavroche pushed his forelegs down against her body and used his dexterous digits to get a grip on the woman before pushing with all of his might against her. He had to get free!
