To fight beside you

After his talk with Ollie, Mortis reluctantly pulled himself a little further out of his shell. The ache in his chest wasn’t going to go away any time soon, but in the meanwhile his children were clearly seeing his struggles. So, taking two of his children, Mortis ventured out on a hunt. Heading North into the icier territories, so he could teach them how to hunt seals.

Once their hunt was complete, he was about to sit down beside the two of them and talk about seal skins. Before he had a chance to do so, heavy footfalls sounded behind him. Turning, Mortis realised another considered this territory their hunting grounds. “Leave or fight, the choice is yours” He said to the two younger wolves beside him. Given the choice, he would leave the seal to the polar bear. But his children were old enough to make their own choices now, and he would stand beside them.
