Mortis heard agreement from Wylan, and a glance over told him both boys were ready for a fight, even if Ollie hadn’t said it outloud. “Alright” Mortis agreed. He was happier to walk away, but boys were young and felt they had a lot more to prove. He remembered that feeling, having encountered it many times in his life. He would let them make their own choices, and simply do the best he could to help them succeed. The polar bear charged them, and Mortis shot forward with all the speed he could muster. Moving surprisingly fast for such a large wolf. His wings flared out on either side of him, his wings tips were sharp as razor blades, and he cut the side of the bear's face to keep it from biting him as he collided with its shoulder. |
