Her brow furrows, her brain working through dusty cogs until the syllables all click together. If it had not been for Celeste’s teachings and Kuroki’s off handed slang, Delphi’s only other language would have been the language Vidarr spoke. 

”Appreciated,” her smile is warm, but it doesn’t connect to her eyes. It’s clear by the look on her face that the loss of her mother still ran a sharp knife through her heart. “I am sure that is not why you’re here, no?” Delphi asks, switching back to the common tongue because honestly, she was out of practice and had not enough brain marbles to really put in the effort.
