I'm On Top of the World

Lel had wandered away from the den, deciding he was going to explore as he wished, after all it was his right. The giant trunks of his home?s vast forest making him feel oddly at ease. Ivory paws pushed against a tree?s roots, pushing him to the next one. A grin spreading across his lips as he discovered a new game. He hopped around the tree leaping from exposed root to exposed root. It was a rare sight, the ivory boy looking like a normal pup. There was no one around to see it however and this moment would be lost forever, never to prove that once he had been the same as anyone else.
His mother?s call reached his ears and the boy stopped, swaying precariously on the edge of a root before scrabbling frantically just to fall flat upon his chest, forelegs under him. The boy hissed but rose to his paws, deciding it would be best if he did answer her call, despite not wanting to. He set off at a leisurely trot not caring how long it took him. He finally arrived in the clearing, not the first to arrive. He skirted the two wolves he did not know to go stand beside his mother.
