Forward we March!

Absinth’s eyes gleamed with delight as she watched Oleander leap into action, a raven overhead clacking above him in warning of her incoming attack. What a coincidence. His readiness and stance brought a grin to her lips. He flicked his tail and moved swiftly, keeping her in view, a playful smile stretching across his maw. He was ready, and she delighted in it.

When she surged forward, Oleander darted off center, deftly avoiding her grapple. She felt the graze of his skull helm against her shoulder, his teeth raking through her fur as she regained her footing, working to realign her body for another attack. But he slid past her, hooking his arm under her legs, trying to throw her balance off. Absinth did indeed stumble but quickly adjusted, her muscles coiling with strength and discipline as she took in her options. His thick hide cape shielded his neck and shoulders, but she was undeterred. This was a dance, and she was more than willing to follow his lead.

He turned tightly, his slender body whipping around as he leaped to grapple her in return. A vengeance. His teeth aimed for her throat, her own attack mirrored back at her. She laughed, emeralds blazing with life. Absinth met him head-on, a wild grin on her charcoal face, the woman shifted her weight and used his momentum against him, letting the boy pull her in. Her jaws thrust forward at the crook of his jaw and neck, an attempt to beat him to the punch while her chest slammed into his own to try and shove him off balance.
