He felt his heart race in his chest and the words came fumbling from his mouth. "O-Of course. As you wish, Mae." He cleared his throat, trying to collect himself. It was a poor attempt, especially once he felt her head slide underneath his jaw. He pressed his chin down against her skull gently to show he returned the affection slightly. He pulled away, focusing now on the deer carcass. He looked deep in thought for a moment before he began to tear into the fallen deer. Moments later, he had managed to take out the deer's heart and held it within his maws. His maws were now stained with red again but with the nature of how wolves ate, he knew cleanliness was the least priority for mealtime. He sat the heart down in front of Mae's paws. "They say the heart is a...selective yet delicious choice." He he presented it proudly, using his red front leg to push it close to her. He sat down onto his hind. He curled his tail to his side and waited patiently for her response.
