Everyone's Got a Baby Caribou.

The caribou calf stood no chance against the sheer ferocity and predatory skills of a fully grown wolf. Azrael had taunted and toyed with the youngling just long enough to have his fun, but when the time came, he did not hesitate to leap upon the prey animal that likely hadn't even seen a full passing of four seasons. The calf bellowed in panic and kick and flail, but its fate was sealed. Azrael's powerful jaws snapped down around the back of the calf's neck, grasping it by the vertebrae and giving it a violent shake until he felt something go snap snap snap! His teeth punctured through thin flesh and had severed several of the bones in the animal's spinal column. The caribou gave a jerky twitching as its body immediately shut down, no longer able to receive signals from a brain it was not connected to.

Az watched the light in the calf's wide eyes go dim, and when those eyes turned to hazy glass, he knew he had secured his kill. Dropping the caribou's limp body back to the snow, Azrael rose to his full height, a quiver of primal delight rippling down his spine. Ah... hunts always awoke something almost carnal within him! His Sidi would be taking the brunt of his successful hunts later tonight.
