Every Day Like The Last

Vanille laid there for quite some time, holding her thoughts empty as she stared into the flickering fire. What tomorrow would hold for her she didn't know. But she worried it wouldn't change. She'd go out to the rivers in attempt to fish from the icy banks, she'd come home and prepare some herbs and meals. And then she'd be back here again waiting for the next day. Should have been careful what she wished for.

Suddenly she had the mysterious urge that someone was watching her though she just brushed it off as a noise from the waters or tree lines that caught her ears from the silent state she had her mind in. Light eyes glanced around at the darkness surrounding her before she stood and threw some dirt and snow on the fire in front of her. She didn't allow her eyes to adjust to the lands around her den before heading inside. She'd be wholly unaware of the dangers lurking outside, but she certainly didn't think anything horrific would happen to her. No one could have predetermined the worst for themselves.
