fading away

Bowen stayed silent as Haiku gave his plea. He would never have more energy than he did at that moment. It saddened her, but she understood. His wish of showing her how much he had always loved her brought tears filling her emerald eyes, but she smiled and nodded.

As the pair moved together, falling into familiar rhythms with one another, Bowen poured herself into him. She showed him just how much she had doorways loved him in return. She prayed to the gods to bless her with his children so that she could continue to love pieces of him for the rest of her days.
