It's The Place To Be

Mariah looked at Cerberus as he spoke, her silver eyes warm with understanding. She could hear the love in his voice as he spoke about his mother, and it tugged at her heartstrings. Her paw, resting beside his, gave a gentle squeeze of comfort. "I'm sorry about your mom, Cerberus," she murmured softly. Mariah might not know what it was like to lose someone that close, but she could imagine. And the thought alone was enough to make her own heart ache with sympathy.

She allowed silence to fall between them once more as they both got lost in their thoughts. Mariah couldn't help but admire Cerberus all over again for being so open and trusting to share his loss with her.
