While he was out with Quill hunting down tigers the day before they had caught the scent of multiple coyotes in the area and since the younger man had been all too willing to continue helping him out with the local nuisances he decided to bring the Klein man out with him again. They tracked the scent down to the clearing where it seemed that they had chosen to den and after a moment of watching and counting how many they would be dealing with Quill burst into the clearing with Deimos right at his heels.

Of course coyotes thought that they had numbers on their side so they confidently went charging back at them in return, but they were going to be sorely mistaken if they thought they could best two dire wolves. Two of the smaller canines went for Quill and Deimos set his attention on a third, lunging for the coyote's neck. They were so drastically smaller than himself that with an extra bit of force he felt his canines crunch straight through one of the coyote's vertebrae and it went limp in his grip. No sooner than he had dropped the one another started biting at the ankle on his back, right leg and he snarled as he spun around toward his second opponent.
