The bitey little shits were... bitey. One sank its pin-like teeth into Quill's heel and another snapped at the tip of his tail. The big wolf spun, growling gutturally which effectively scared the shit out of his two attackers. Golden eyes went wide and the pair of coyotes fled, tails between their legs. This was a whole horde though, so Quill wasn't surprised when more came out of the den.

A big male ran straight at him and Quill was surprised at the ferocity. Still, coyotes were small. The brute lifted one paw and slapped the charging coyote right upside the head. It shook the lesser canines marbles and Quill could hear its teeth snap together. He couldn't help but laugh. Dumb dog.
