There had been no doubt that her father would take her up on her challenge and just as she suspected he did just that. He immediately moved into a fighting stance as he challenged her in return to try and take down her old man. Her grin widened with excitement as she matched his fighting stance with one of her own–setting her paws as firmly as she could on the sandy surface and coiling her muscles to get ready to dodge whatever it was her dad was about to throw at her. Even though she had managed to match him in height he was still a more filled out, muscular build than she was so she knew she'd have to try and avoid his attacks where she could. As she had kind of expected he would, he came charging toward her across the short stretch of beach between them and she kept her position with her legs bent and ready to spring until he was close enough that he wouldn't be able to redirect if she jumped out of the way.
At the very last moment she sprung to her right to get out of the way and dodge the sumo wrestler style slam he had tried to pull on her, letting him go past her instead. That much of her dodge was successful, however she hadn't really taken into account the rushing waves that were sweeping across the surface of the sand they were fighting on and another wave came in just as she was landing back on the beach and it swept around her paws strongly enough to throw off her footing. With a little yelp of surprise she was pulled down onto her side by the water. Luckily the sand was a soft enough surface that the impact didn't really bother her, but it did catch her off guard and she laid there blinking for a split second before scrambling back to her paws and spinning around to face her father again, grinning and hoping maybe he hadn't noticed the spill she took. "You're going to have to be faster than that, old man!" she teased and taunted, giving herself a quick shake to toss off the sand clinging to her shoulder and side before she rushed forward for an attack of her own.
She kept an eye on the waves that had receded again after pushing her off balance as she moved back toward her dad, both to avoid her blunder again and to work it to her advantage. She leapt forward toward him a couple of times, pouncing toward him and back again as she feigned one way and then another a couple of times to hide what her real intentions were. As soon as she water came rushing back up the shore toward them again she jumped to his side that was facing the upper part of the beach and reared up to shove her forepaws into his shoulder to try and push him into the water and hopefully use the wave that rushed in around their paws to aid her efforts.
