A fell-like aura overcame Bane and caused the elder banished to give an involuntary shiver as if the coldest of breezes passed right through him. Something was not right. The forest had grown to quiet, the river was too slow and the sky far too grey. A milky sapphire eye raised its field of vision from the scrapped and churned up snow to the riverside forest. The twice-banished titled his head to the left and began to scan the gaps in the trees, looking for anything out of the ordinary or if prey had fallen into one of his traps. One not as seasoned as he and lacking the lessons he'd learned most likely would've called out to see if an animal was nearby, a good thing that Bane never did that unless it was a packmate. The feeling was still there, Bane crouching and widening his paws on the snow to not sink in far and he began to stalk forward.
The remaining eye swept back and forth between the gaps in the trees as he continued to move, the wind blowing in his direction and a scent of an unfamiliar one caught his attention. A lost one maybe, separated in the storm and trying to find their way? He began to pick apart the scent in his mind, an underlying musk on this individual telling Bane that besides the stranger being a pup and male, was also a Glaciem wolf.
The scent was beginning to get stronger and a slight grin upturned the corners of his muzzle. By the smell of things Bane still had time with him being downwind and all. The Talutah-Seracia banished had the time, the patience and the pelt color to do this.
This was no vanguard to a war party, or a scout. This was potential ransom. And so with his quarry coming nearer and nearer to his position Bane burrowed his lower jaw, chest, legs and stomach into the winter skyfall to wait. A wolf identification disruptive technique, blur your outline and cause hesitation.
Then strike.
