The dame, however sore herself, did not move from her silent vigil of this dark stranger. He was dehydrated, half starved to death, and practically upon deaths door, even with a small meal and a drink from the river, it would take him several days, if not a few weeks to regain his full strength. He was several sizes larger than she and the rabbit would do little for him. She would need to catch him something decent once her muscles healed a touch. She knew she had ripped the muscles in her hind legs, dragging him this far. It would take her a few weeks to get up to par as well, but at least rabbits and hares were plentiful and she could still catch one of them.

She kept herself from nodding off, forced herself to fight sleep and remain watchful over the barely conscious wolf within her embrace. She checked his pulse periodically, to make sure he remained stable enough... not that she could do much if he wasn't. Evie was no healer. A warrior of Arkhein with a kind heart. She had never belonged to the ruthless pack, but they had taught her to fight and she could fight well, but healing someone was an entirely different story, other than a few basic painkillers she knew nothing of vegetation or herbs. With a sigh she stayed awake, feeling his heart beat through his back and taking satisfaction in the fact that he had not died on her yet.

He stirred finally, slowly, groggy and she lifted her head from his back, allowing him his space, he had not yet seemed to notice her, but the hare was another story entirely. One massive paw came to trap the thing before heavy jaws tore the beast to ribbons, thick teeth destroyed the creature, swallowing chunks of it whole while his esophagus protested the thick consumption and forced him to gag. She was glad she had retrieved the thing, it seemed at least to help him somewhat. When he had finished he turned to face her, not speaking, but the wild look in his eyes demanded of her questions.

"My name is Evelette. Tell me what you remember?" She kept her breathing low and calm, her heartbeat slow and steady, even her voice was the essence of gentleness. She had no desire to hurt him but that did not mean the gesture of kindness would be returned. She knew nothing of this stranger and he could decide she was a threat at any given moment, she kept that, always, in the back of her mind. "I am the one that procured the rabbit for you. I mean you no ill intent."
