Having volunteered himself and his daughter for assistance with their quest for expansion, Nao headed out with the warriors today to secure the Redbud Nook. There was a good chance that other predators had taken over the area, and from the sounds of it, their main problem today would be coyotes. Not surprising, the little bastards were everywhere, all of the time. Silent as the grave, the wraith slipped through the shadowed paths behind their leader. Since the changing of leadership, many new faces had come out of the woodworks and taken up roles in the hierarchy that were well above his own station. Like most things relating to pack life, the koi wolf cared little for the politics of it all. He was only here for his family, and so he would contribute to their wellbeing to the best of his abilities.

Speaking of.. the stench of coyote musk was strong. Remnants of carcasses strewn here and there as they approached the source of the offensive stink. The towering horned male that led them spoke up as they began to press deeper into the coyote pack's territory, reminding them not to stray from the group. The ebon male grunted quietly in acknowledgement, adjusting the sheath of his blade where it lay flush with his lithe form. Based on the smell, and the size of the bones that poked out from the undergrowth in places.. it was not a small group of them. Enough to be bringing down medium prey animals on more than one occasion. His orange marked crown lowered between his shoulders, tail swishing against his heels as his hackles began to bristle. They were well placed for an ambush, and in the dark of night their best senses would be hearing and scent. Luckily, his children were all in bed, and none had volunteered to join the fight. So there was a certain peace of mind that came with that knowledge.
