Haiku had accepted his fate after much experimenting and hoping he could find a cure. He had succeeded in easing his symptoms but as time went on the reality set in and he knew he would soon be reuniting with the ones who had gone ahead of him. By now he looked forward to being pain free and seeing his father again. Meeting his ancestors. There was no other outlook he would accept. Some didn’t believe in an afterlife, but he knew what was waiting for him on the other side, and it was a huge welcome home. All of Abaven would be there, and he was ready. He would be sad to leave Bowen behind, and he wished he could say goodbye to his siblings. They had all been scattered to the wind though, and he wasn’t about ot be able to summon them to his side.
As he lay his head on his paws the sounds of another disturbed him. This was not bowen. Haiku lifted his heavy head to find the familiar form of his twin loping towards him. A smile played on his weary features as Senryu called out his name. ”Sen…” He returned lovingly. ”yes, it’s me. I’m here… for now.” He ended somberly.
