SPEED IS LIFE

The woman is friendly and doesn’t seem taken aback by his comment so, as she chuckles, his grin widens and his tail lazily sweeps the air behind him. Her reply has him softly chuckling as well but he is given a name to go with his opponent and his grin brightens. Excitement paints his face as he gives her the choice of finish line and he cocks his head as she explains about the willow tree. Nodding in agreement, he stands next to her, readying to race off the moment the rock smacks into the ground.

Muscles tense as it seems that the stone falls forever, the air becoming eclectic from Enki’s anticipation while he waits. With a ‘thud’ the rock strikes home and he releases the energy that had been carefully stored in one long, fluid motion, taking off with explosive speed but he finds that he still does not manage to get a lead on Jynn. Ears flatten against his skull as his tail snaps out behind, acting as rudder while his paws slap the ground in a dizzying rhythm that keeps time with his heart.

The world dissolves around him as his eyes narrow and all he can focus on is getting to the finish line first.
