All inside your head

Oblivious as to what was going on, Tethys could only react to what was going on in her own mind. Though she did tend toward being a bit paranoid and distrusting of others, this full-blown fear was hardly what anyone who knew her would call typical of her. She couldn't begin to fathom how strange she was acting though - it felt like a perfectly reasonable response to a threat that seemed so very real. Even as Oleander approached, she could see them, lurking in the shadows behind him and all around them. Their eyes were piercing, even from such a great distance, as they watched the two of them.

The fear that bloomed in her chest, full-strength now, was impossible to ignore. No, it wasn't just that, but it was threatening to overtake her entirely. The fact that Oleander didn't seem quite so panicked was unsettling, shaking her up even further. "We've been infiltrated," she managed to choke out, her chest still heaving from the exertion of running through the mountain range. "They're here - we're not safe!"

Tethys swung around gesturing wildly toward the treeline. "We need to gather our warriors - we need to-" The world around her started to sway, and she tried to steady herself. All the blood seemed to drain from her head and she felt everything beginning to grow hazy. "I don't.. feel so well," she breathed after a moment, sinking back on her haunches and trying to steady herself.
