Ever curious

Zagan didn’t realize Xina was already nearby, investigating a rock on the beach before toddling over to him and his discovery. Whether it be jealousy or ignorance, something was compelling her forward, her smaller body shoving between himself and the carcass. Zagan’s tall, elongated ears flicked to the side, his quills starting to rise out of reflex. Hey! Gimme! What is it! She said, and Zagan growled a disapproving grumble, his head lowering to align with his shoulders. “I saw it first.” He said, bi-colored eyes narrowing at his adoptive sibling, eyeing her with the intent to make her leave. If she didn’t tuck tail and back off, he would engage- lunging at her with unsheathed claws, swiping at her shoulder with a snarl. His raven hopped backward, removing itself from the impending brawl.
