Even though Ciná did manage to strike his opponent, the man did manage to dance to the side at the last moment and miss the worst of the blow. He didn't think they were all that different in height, but now that he was in close quarters with the man he realized he was a good bit slimmer in build and that came out in an extra bit of speed and dexterity on his opponent's part. Ciná's forward momentum held him up in turning around to face the Raider just long enough for Scald to bite into the back of his thigh, making Ciná wince and growl in response. On reflex, he immediately picked up his back, right paw and kicked backward at his opponent, aiming for the man's face but he'd be equally as happy if he managed to hit his neck or shoulder–anything to make him let go of his thigh. Luckily, his mastiff came running in to the rescue, the large dog bounding in with a loud bark and reaching to bite Scald's right foreleg in retaliation for biting his master.
