As Ruse lunged at the cheeky man with her paws outstretched, she quickly realized she hadn't factored in the possibility of him moving before she could land her paws on him. He dipped to the side, causing just one set of talons to catch on his shoulder and leave her partially in free fall. She quickly started to shift her weight to widen her stance on her hind legs to brace herself a bit more and bring her right leg down to catch herself. However, before she could touch down on the ground, she felt Tarnish's jaws grab her left foreleg, throwing off her landing even more. If it hadn't been for her efforts to right herself in those brief seconds between her attack and hitting the ground he might have been able to topple her, but luckily she was able to catch herself with three paws on the ground and a few slightly unsteady hops. With a scowl she pulled back against the tugging he was doing on her arm to try and pull him in closer so that she could reach for his muzzle to try and bite down around the top of his muzzle in the hopes that she could either scare him off from biting her foreleg or force him to let go with her own bite.
