Cifa asked when she would forgive him and Kaino's ears flicked forward, her brow furrowing. That was a question that she didn't have an answer for. Something that she didn't want to think about, really. Yes, she was pissed that Cifa had abandoned their family, but it was more than that. Deep down, maybe she was also a little hurt. Hurt that he had gone off without a word. Hurt that the family didn't mean as much to him as it meant to her. Anger was much easier to deal with than hurt, so that was the emotion that she clung to.

The dark brute stepped in closer, telling her that he was still here. Yes, he was still here. Perhaps she had been too hard on him all this time, but how else was she supposed to let him know that she was upset with him? He should know how she was. They'd grown up together, after all. He knew that she could hold a grudge.

Kaino huffed, a ghost of steam moving out into the wintery air. The woman rolled her mint and ice eyes, breaking their staring contest. Her lip peeled back in a partial sneer as she shook her head. "Don't let it happen again," she warned him. He'd come to her, letting her know that the animosity that she showed him was bothering him. It meant a little something that he realized it. She could start to forgive him, but she'd still look down on him for a while.
