Sleep would come to those who were granted the luxury of safety. Xurek was not one of those. Since the coup, his mind was a buzz with paranoia that someone would one day come for him. Not that he feared he could take them on, no. But rather, he wished to be ready. To be fully prepared for whoever or whatever came for him. While his size was mighty and his strength unheard of, there were still weak points on his body and a lack of sharpness to his attacks. In close quarters, he could take them, but something extra would help.
As the night continued to wane with the waxing moon high in the sky, Xurek wanders from the knolls toward the plateau. He sees why many don't reside here aside from vermin and scavengers. The grass changes from a vibrant emerald green to a pale yellow. Almost as if whatever had happened here so many years ago had cursed the very soil his hooves imprinted. Tattered flags hung from broken poles and dulled, rusted metal poked out from the ground. It was this metal that caught his attention. Surely some of it was still good or could at least be turned into something useful.
Xurek draws near to a dented helmet still adorned by a skull. A skull he could not identify as to what creature it belonged to, but that didn't matter to him. Lowering his head closer to the item, his nostrils flare as he examines the metal headpiece. Huffing quietly under his breath, disappointed that the helmet would be too damaged to use, his eyes spot something else that might be just as good. Strewn over a ribcage that has since been picked clean, a decently preserved chainmail shirt glints under the light of the moon. If he could find a way to strip it into pieces, it could possibly work as a whip or cat of nine tails...
