In this land of make-believe

Atreyu had made it a point to avoid the river, but today she felt as though she needed to go there. Judila had been a riverside pack, and the sound of the rushing waters made Atreyu's heart ache for home. She had her own plans to create a new home for her family, but she needed to find them all and get them all in one place before she could tell them. The spotted woman came to sit by the riverside, watching the bugs float over the top of the water and fish jump to get them. This would be a great spot to fish at, and she wondered briefly if she could find Ellara to go fishing again.

Her ear was still tender to the touch, but the wound there was healing nicely. Ellara might not be too keen on fishing again, lest they draw in another cougar. She still had some supplies from their kill, however, and as she sat on the river's bank, she thought about how she could use the bones she carried. An idea dawned on her finally and she lay herself down with one of the rib bones from the cougar. It would be curved a bit, but she began to sharpen one side of the tip with a rock, creating her first scalpel.
