Puppies are invincible

He dove suddenly to the side with a snarl, aiming to rake a claw down the side of the bear's hind leg. The bear, which had been confused at the sudden arrival of two pups, took offence to this motion. It roared, opening its mouth with a mixture of deep sound and spittle.

It lumbered, slow and heavy in its movements as it turned to swipe at the puppy that had dared to attack it. Here, in the place that it called home.
