From The Ashes

Esperanza walked around the pack, surprised with how many wolves the king had in his pack. Not just any wolves, but most violent and menacing. She, on the other hand, could be gruesome and tainted with darkness if the reason needed it. "Wow," she thought to herself as she saw some she-wolves flattering with some of the males, especially the king himself. "Such love struck wolves who care more about the king than themselves," she thought. She would do anything for her pack, but sometimes she wished she could have someone that loved her for her, not just because she was a brood that the king could use whenever, and however he pleased.
Snow ran down the contours of her back, causing the little droplets of frozen water to seep into the confinements of her ebony colored pelt. Her dark claws dug deeply into the sheet of white that seemed to be like a large blanket that covered almost the entire territory. Many barks and howls could be heard as the king and his family and pack began to speak amongst themselves about plans and what needed to be done. She was part of the pack too, but she wanted to stay farther away before she got herself in trouble if she ever interfered in any of her pack's business. Especially the king's business and he could have her killed on the spot.
She placed her globe on top of her snow covered ebony paws and watched the land with it's life. Some crows cawed in the distance, which annoyed her because they were right on top of her head. A low growl emanated from the region of her chest, but not loud enough for the pack to hear for she didn't want to distract their meetings. Her emerald orbs shimmered from the sun that peaked out from behind the grey clouds that covered the sky. As her snarl didn't succeed in scaring the crows off, she huffed in annoyance, carbon dioxide forming a small mist cloud before evaporating into the atmosphere. She continued to watch her pack talk about the meeting as she thought about what her life might be like, no matter how much she wished to have a mate someday, knowing very well it might not happen to her.
