Even I had to admit that the hare, although small, did due me some good. And although it had been dead for quite a little while, it still tasted fresh and moist. Even I knew the little furry creature didn't sacrifice itself because it felt sorry for my butt... And I knew for a fact I didn't sleep hunt and catch it myself and so I had came to the assumption that the lovely damn that remained next me was the one that had brought it to me. Although I could be wrong. It was merely an assumption. I remained speechless until she spoke up. Instead I merely examined her. And even after she did speak I continued to remain ever so silent...

She could be on the opposing side. That's very much a possibility. But if that were the case I'd be within a small metal cage surrounded by bars, or draped with chains... She wouldn't dare sit so close to me if that were true... But then who was was she? We couldn't be on the same side, I would have seen her before... After all it wasn't like the ship was the size of an island. We knew everyone. Wait where was my captain? And the rest of the crew? Huge ears swiveled forward upon my crown as I searched the area with the upmost concern. But I saw no one.. No one that I knew anyway. Inhaling deeply I tried to catch whiff of the captains potent aroma, but found nothing. I didn't dare to try to move around to much even I was under the realization that I was far to weak to fumble around.

Turning back to face the broad once again I continued to try to remember just what the hell happened. She had to have been on my side, there is no way she was one of the others.. She surely would have slit my throat by now, letting me drown within my own blood.. Instead she seemed concerned, the worry and exhaustion shone within her own captivating blue orbs. Yet her voice remained mellow, not a flaw within her words. If she did infact save my life I would be forever in her debt, that was the code in which we lived by in the sea. After all, as far as I know my captain had saved me, and I continued to be grateful even after six years.. Of course I wasn't exactly sure what he had saved me from.. But he did care for me and provided me all the essentials in which I needed to live. You see, sure the pirates upon the sea are ruthless killers, basically scavengers a float but we do have a code of conduct. Catch one of them alone, and help in any way shape or form and your life be spared, basically. Finally I figured I had been quiet far to long, poor lass was probably thinking I was a mute by now, or deaf one of the two. And so I cleared my throat briefly before speaking. My own strange accent tainting that rough and rugged voice of mine. Never really had to talk back on the ship, hell they were all two-leggers. Never knew what I was saying anyway.

Diabolitio is wha' they called me.

I offered her a polite dip of my cranium even if it did cause me to have to strain my neck muscles to the fullest. A sharp stinking pain still resided there, I'd get to that later. Perhaps a sea serpent got a hold of me, hell if I know. Then I continued to try to remember what had happened previously. Well over a week ago, hell I should be dead!

Aye, well.. I dun remember much... I remember a storm a brewing. A feisty one a'tha'! It tore the ship apart, plank by plank... That be it. It seemed to take ferever and I awake for a second on sand. Not sure how I be there...

I offered her a shrug as I continued to think.... What else happened? Everything was such a blur.. No vivid memories.. Then again I did just snap out of an a coma, perhaps it'll come back to me later? I went back to searching the area for missing people, found nothing.... Attention then went back to Miss Evelette who remained by my side. Just looking at her told a tale of a kindred spirit. But deep down inside shone a little spark of hurt and pain. Some ones eyes told alot about them. But it certainly didn't take any of her beauty away.

That be all I can r'member. And thank you lass for the rabbit, it sure did hit the spot. Now I really mus' be goin' I got a few others to fin'. Yer hospitality is greatly ap'reciated. An' I am forever in yer debt that be a fact.

I had decided to get onto all fours which wasn't really a bright idea. I could feel my very legs shaking beneath my deteriorated body before I collapsed... I knew I was weak.. But blimey I didn't know I was that weak! I offered a frustrated huff in disgust before looking over to her once more.

'er perhaps maybe I be stayin' 'ere for a little longer.

I offered her a coy little smile, feeling pretty humiliated at this point.
