Ultyr smirked at the other's well-timed joke. He shrugged in response, the little thing he was toting around wasn't much of a hunter herself, but Ultyr wasn't even going to let the other know there was another he was feeding.
They moved in tandem, and the plan was agreed. They spread out and stalked to catch the mule deer unawares. The strange red sun hung over them like a bloodlust promise. The spires surrounded their prey. Now they just needed to angle it to catch it against one.
He lunged for the deer with a sharp bark. Intending to incense its fear and turn it blind. He nipped at its heels, herding it toward a cluster of spikes.
