Apocalypse now
Rebel

Her mother had told them stories growing up of a huge volcano eruption that destroyed a huge chunk of Boreas, a time when everything was frozen in ice, and a time when the night never seemed to end. These apocalyptic scenarios had always felt like they were in the distant past and almost more like fairy tales than something that actually happened. When the world began to quake and everyone in the castle was ordered to remain indoors through the night she thought about her mother's stories and began to wonder if maybe they were real after all. She was looking forward to the morning and hoped that the sun rising would make it seem like a bad dream, but the ominous red sky didn't do much to calm her nerves.
She hung back when Artorias gathered a group of wolves to go investigate, but when Ember approached her to do her own scouting Rebel didn't hesitate to grab her own armor and sword to follow after the Carpathian princess–partially because she didn't want Ember to go on her own and partially because she just couldn't say no to her. When their path eventually brought them to the strange stretch of land that seemingly appeared overnight she had to search her memory to make sure she just hadn't missed this place when she had passed through the west before. The spires and landscape looked ancient and worn, but how could that be when it wasn't here when she came through here during her exploring? "That's for sure..." she said in agreement when Ember said she had never seen anything like this before, exchanging a glance with her before they both stepped into the red-lit land to get a closer look.
